AFMS Group was founded by Andrew Hadjidemetri, a mortgage broker with more than 12 years in finance and one simple frustration: banks make borrowing harder than it needs to be, and they only ever sell their own products. He started AFMS Group to do it the other way around, with someone genuinely on the borrower's side.
Andrew has built his career on understanding how lenders actually think. He has helped hundreds of Australians buy, invest and refinance, holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics from Macquarie University, and has earned more than 20 industry awards and rankings since 2021, including a place among the Top 10 Brokers in Australia (Mortgage Professional Australia, 2025).
He has also done it himself, building his own investment property portfolio, so the advice you get comes from someone who has sat on your side of the deal. Today he leads a dedicated Sydney team, but the way the firm works has not changed: you deal directly with an experienced broker, never a call centre.
